WDA’s Ally Takes Part in Italian Congress Election

In June 2022, Michela Vittoria Brambilla, President of the Italian League for the Protection of Animals and the Environment (Leidaa) and an ally of the World Dog Alliance (WDA), called for the rescue of the cats and dogs affected by the Russian-Ukrainian war and hoped that they could live happily again in Italy.

In August 2022, Michela Vittoria Brambilla announced her candidacy for the Italian Congress as a politician for environmental protection and animal rights. She has made it clear that she will include environmental protection and the promotion of animal welfare in her platform.

She said that caring for animals is a human right and that environmental protection, ecological transformation and animal welfare issues are becoming increasingly important for the future of Italy. As a civilised country, Italy should take the rights of animals seriously. On 20 May 2017, she launched the animal protection campaign as President and founder of the Italian League for the Protection of Animals and the Environment. She called on leaders of all parties to speak out for the environment and animals, which are an essential part of human life.

According to the WDA, Michaela Brambilla’s candidacy for the Italian Congress election is an important one. Michaela Brambilla will do the cause of animal protection no harm at all. There are not many lawmakers in the world who speak out for animals. It would be a great boon to the animals if Michaela Brambilla were to become one of them. As an international animal protection organisation, the WDA will fully support those politicians who speak out for animals and will be a strong advocate for them.
