UK Lawmaker: How is it legal to eat dogs in Britain?

Thanks Giles Watling MP for his continuous work on legislation against dog meat consumption in the UK.

Giles Watling has been campaigning for a ban on the human consumption of dog meat in the UK since 2018 with World Dog Alliance, as there is a loophole in the animal protection law that allows the eating of dog and cat meat in the country.

In his latest article, he mentions the coronavirus pandemic has brought the issue of animal welfare and wildlife trading to the forefront of public debate. As people search for answers and solutions to this unprecedented crisis, it has pushed some countries to take some significant and welcome steps in favour of animal welfare. One of those areas has been in the human consumption of dog and cat meat.
