Directory of Genetic Resources of Livestock and Poultry

According to the “Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress on the Comprehensive Prohibition of Illegal Wildlife Trade, the Elimination of the Abuse of Wild Animals, and the Effective Protection of the People’s Health and Safety” and “Animal Husbandry Law of the People’s Republic of China”, “Directory of Genetic Resources of Livestock and Poultry” is established by the Ministry and approved by the State Council. It is hereby promulgated and shall be implemented as of the date of promulgation.

National Catalogue of Livestock and Poultry Genetic Resources

The National Catalogue of Livestock and Poultry Genetic Resources includes the hybrid offspring of the listed domesticated livestock and poultry.

1. Traditional livestock

(1) Pig

Local breeds, cultivated breeds (including hybrid offspring of domestic pigs and wild boars) and matched bloodlines, introduced varieties and matched bloodlines

(2) Ordinary cattle, zebu, buffalo, yak, and gaur

(3) Sheep and goats
