Did you know? USA has banned dog and cat meat consumption.

Genlin has faced the same question many times during his filming of “Eating Happiness” in Asia, “why should we ban dog meat when even USA hasn’t done so?” This was why he launched the campaign to promote legislation in USA as the first step to a establish the International Agreement to Prohibit the Eating of Dogs and Cats. After years of work, on 12 December 2018, USA Congress passed the bill to ban dog and cat meat consumption. The bill was officially enacted when President Trump signed it on 20 December.

PROHIBITION OF SLAUGHTER OF DOGS AND CATS FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION. 

(a) PROHIBITION.—No person may— 

  1. knowingly slaughter a dog or cat for  human consumption; or 
  2. knowingly ship, transport, move, deliver, receive, possess, purchase, sell, or 

donate— 

  1. a dog or cat to be slaughtered for 

 human consumption; or 

  1. dog or cat parts for human consumption. 

(b) PENALTY.—Any person who violates this section  shall be subject to imprisonment for not more than 1 year, or a fine of not more than $2,500, or both.
