Great News! An Italian Chamber of House introduced a bill to ban of dog and cat meat consumption in Italy. ??????

The Hon. Michela Vittoria Brambilla , president of Italian League for the Defense of Animals and the Environment, who with Jason Pang, Director of the World Dog Alliance presented her bill prohibiting the slaughter, trade and consumption of dog and cat meat.

“Although there is substantially no evidence of the consumption of canine or feline meat in Italy, if not some suspicious and in any case sporadic cases,” the Hon. Brambilla, who as president of LE.I.D.A.A. represents the WDA in Italy – it appears necessary to introduce the explicit prohibition to consume them, assisted by appropriate criminal sanctions, to fully recognize the role that these loving animals have assumed in our society and to contribute to affirming this principle at international level ”.
